Do I Need Spiked Shoes to Install Epoxy Floors?
For most floors, yes. Spiked shoes let you walk across wet epoxy without leaving footprints. You need that to back-roll the whole floor, broadcast flake evenly or fix a missed spot in the middle of the room.
Can you do it without them?
You can, but it changes how you work. Mix smaller batches, coat the floor in sections you can reach from dry concrete, and use an extension pole for the squeegee and roller. It is slower, and a full flake broadcast is hard to get even this way.
Spiked shoes are included in the tool kit with our Pro System.
