Metallic Epoxy Floor Kits
A metallic epoxy floor has a deep, glossy finish with color that moves across the slab. Each EpoxyPRO metallic kit is sized for your floor and comes with the ground coat, the clear epoxy and the metallic pigment.
Kits start at $624.99 for up to 350 sq ft and ship free. Every order includes a free 20-minute consultation by phone.
What is a metallic epoxy floor?
A metallic floor goes down in layers. First, a black ground coat. Then clear epoxy with metallic pigment mixed in, poured and spread over the black. The Pro kits finish with a clear topcoat.
The pigment moves while the epoxy levels, so no two metallic floors look the same. The black ground coat underneath is what gives the color its depth.

Garage, basement or showroom: what to plan for
Garage
- Choose the Garage Pro kit near a garage door or window. Without a UV-stable topcoat, epoxy ambers in sunlight and scratches sooner.
- Coat when the slab and the air are between 60 and 90°F and humidity is under 85%.
- Before you order, tape a 2 ft square of plastic sheet to the slab and leave it for 24 hours. Damp concrete under the plastic means the slab needs moisture vapor primer first.
Basement and indoor rooms
- The basement kit finishes with a matte topcoat that hides scuffs and roller marks.
- Slabs below ground fail the moisture test more often than garage slabs. Do the plastic sheet test before you order.
- A floor coating does not stop leaks. If water comes in through the walls or the slab after rain, fix that first.

Prep matters more on a metallic floor
Clear epoxy settles into every low spot and crack, and a glossy floor shows them. Get the slab right first.
- Test for moisture. Use the plastic sheet test above.
- Repair the slab. Fill cracks with epoxy crack filler. Rebuild chipped spots with concrete quick fix.
- Deal with oil. Degrease the stains. If a stain comes back a day later, prime it with oil stop primer.
- Profile the concrete. Grind or acid-etch until it feels like 120-grit sandpaper. Coatings bond to a rough surface.

Metallic epoxy floor FAQ
Is a metallic floor harder to do than a flake floor?
Yes. The look comes from how you spread and move the pigmented epoxy, so it takes more technique. Call before you start and we will go through it with you.
Will my floor look like the photo?
It will look like the color you chose. The pattern will be your own, because the pigment moves as the epoxy levels.
Do I need the topcoat?
On a floor that sees sunlight or cars, yes. Without it the epoxy is the wear surface. It scratches sooner and ambers in sunlight.
Is a metallic floor slippery?
It is smooth and glossy. For floors that get wet, stir anti-slip grit into the topcoat. More in are epoxy floors slippery?
What if I want a flake floor instead?
