What Is the Best Polyurethane for Epoxy Floors?

The right topcoat depends on how hard the floor gets used, whether you can ventilate for a solvent product, and which state you are in.

Water-based polyurethane

T-521 (gloss) and T-520 (matte) are low odor and simple to roll. They suit basements, living spaces and residential garages with normal traffic.

Polyaspartic

T-444X Polyaspartic is UV-stable, very hard and fast to return to service. It is our standard topcoat over full flake garage floors. T-344 cures even faster.

Solvent-based urethanes

T-321 High Performance Urethane and T-359 High Wear Urethane are built for forklifts, equipment and shop traffic. They have a strong odor while curing and need full ventilation. Some solvent products cannot ship to certain states because of VOC rules. The product page lists where.

For a home garage, use polyaspartic. For a shop floor with equipment, use a high wear urethane.
