Can I Put a Clear Coat Over Epoxy?
Yes. Epoxy is tough, but it scratches more easily than a urethane or polyaspartic, and most epoxies amber when they sit in sunlight. A clear topcoat protects the base coat and keeps the color true.
Which topcoat to use
- Most home garages: T-444X Polyaspartic. UV-stable, very hard, and the standard over full flake floors.
- Easy application, low odor: T-521 Water-Based Polyurethane Gloss or the matte T-520.
- Heavy traffic, shops and warehouses: T-359 High Wear Urethane.
Over a full flake broadcast, the topcoat also locks the chips in and makes the floor easier to clean. Our Pro System includes the topcoat, sized to your floor.
