Pitting, spalling and chemical saturation
Pep Boys service bays

Pep Boys has serviced cars since 1921, and for decades much of that work happened on bare concrete. Motor oil, battery acid, brake and transmission fluid soaked into the unprotected floor until the staining could not be cleaned out. The surface itself started to fail: pitting and spalling from years of gravel ground in under tires. The residue film had one more cost: it turned slick with any water, a slip hazard for the techs working on it.
The fix. A partner installer took the bays down to clean concrete with a diamond grind, patched the pitting and spalls with epoxy mortar, and rebuilt the surface with an EpoxyPRO 100% solids epoxy system under a high-wear clear coat.
The result is in the photos: the same bay, before and after. A sealed, non-porous surface that fluids sit on instead of soaking into, cleaned with a mop instead of a losing battle, and noticeably brighter under the same lights.
